1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of thecyprusplanetarium.com (the "Website") and the purchase of any ticket, pass, membership, gift voucher, experience or goods from us. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean V&G Planetarium Limited, and "you" means the visitor or customer.
The Website platform, hosting infrastructure, ticketing system and underlying technical services are provided by AMS Media. The photographs, video footage, dome show media and other visual content on the Website belong to V&G Planetarium Limited or to third parties who have licensed their use.
By browsing the Website you accept the provisions of these terms that concern use of the Website. When you buy from us, you are asked to tick an unticked box confirming that you have read and accept these terms before you pay. That confirmation, and not mere browsing, forms the contract of sale between us.
Please read these terms before you order. We recommend that you save or print a copy.
2. Who may buy
To buy from the Website you must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract. Tickets for children are bought by an adult, who is responsible for the booking and for supervising the children during the visit.
3. How the contract is formed
The technical steps are these. You select the show, experience, pass or item you want and add it to your basket. You review the contents of your basket, where you can correct any input errors before ordering. You provide your contact and payment details, tick the box confirming acceptance of these terms, and place your order by pressing the order and pay button. Your order is an offer to buy.
The contract is formed only when we send you a booking confirmation by email, with your ticket or pass attached. If we cannot accept your order, for example because the show is sold out or an item is unavailable, we will tell you and we will not charge you, or we will refund you in full.
The contract may be concluded in English, Greek or Russian. We store the booking confirmation and the order record, and you can access your bookings through your account. We recommend that you keep the confirmation email.
4. Prices
Prices are shown in euro (EUR) and include VAT where applicable. The total payable, including any fees, is shown before you confirm your order.
Where we advertise a price reduction, we state the prior price, being the lowest price we applied during the 30 days before the reduction, in accordance with EU and Cypriot price indication rules.
Concession, child, family, student and group prices apply only to those they are described for, and we may ask for proof on arrival. If proof is not produced, we may ask for the difference in price or refuse admission.
We take care to ensure prices are accurate. If we discover an obvious pricing error before we send your booking confirmation, we will tell you and you may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it without charge.
5. Payment
Payment is taken at the time of your order, through our payment provider, Viva Wallet. Card details are entered directly with the payment provider and are not stored on our systems. Your order will not be processed until payment is authorised.
6. Tickets, passes and admission
-
Tickets and passes are valid only for the show, event, experience, date and time shown on them.
-
Please arrive in good time. Once a dome show has started, latecomers may not be admitted, and no refund is due in that case.
-
Tickets and passes are personal to the purchaser and to the persons named or described on them. They may not be resold or offered for commercial gain without our written permission, and we may cancel, without refund, any ticket we reasonably believe has been resold in breach of this term.
-
You must comply with our safety rules, the conditions of entry displayed at the planetarium, and the reasonable instructions of our staff.
-
Age, height and health restrictions stated for particular experiences, including the virtual reality hall and any motion based equipment, must be observed. These restrictions exist for your safety, and we may refuse participation where they are not met.
-
We may refuse admission, or require a visitor to leave, on reasonable safety grounds or where behaviour disrupts other visitors, damages property or breaches our conditions of entry. Where we do so for such a reason, no refund is due.
-
Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
7. Your right to withdraw within 14 days
Under Cypriot and EU consumer law, the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days does not apply to contracts for the provision of services relating to leisure activities where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance. This includes dome shows, observation nights, events, courses, guided tours and dated day passes. By completing a booking for such a ticket or pass, you acknowledge that the 14 day right does not apply, and your cancellation rights are those set out in section 8.
The 14 day right does apply to physical goods bought from our online shop, and to gift vouchers that are not tied to a specific date, as set out in sections 12 and 13.
Where the right applies, you may withdraw within 14 days without giving a reason. To do so, tell us clearly, by email to info@planetariumcyprus.com or by post to our registered office. You may use the following wording: "I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the sale of the following goods or the supply of the following service: [item], ordered on [date], order reference [reference], name and address [details]." We will refund you within 14 days of being informed, using the same payment method you used, unless you agree otherwise.
8. Cancellations, changes and refunds
If you cancel a dated ticket, pass or experience:
-
More than 48 hours before the scheduled start time: we refund 100% of the price paid.
-
48 hours or less before the scheduled start time, or if you do not attend: no refund is due.
To cancel, contact us by email at info@planetariumcyprus.com or by telephone on +357 22 278 700, quoting your booking reference and the name used for the booking.
Rescheduling. Instead of cancelling, you may ask to move your booking to another date and time, subject to availability, provided you ask at least 48 hours before the original scheduled start time. Rescheduling is free of charge, and any difference in price is payable by you or refundable by us, as applicable.
If we cancel or change. If we cancel a show, event or experience, or change it materially, including the date, time or venue, you may choose either a full refund of everything you have paid or a transfer to another date. Observation nights depend on the weather, and if we cancel one because of the weather the same choice applies.
Exceptional circumstances. Where you are unable to attend for a serious reason such as illness or bereavement, please contact us. We will consider a full refund or a transfer on a case by case basis, and we may ask for evidence.
Non-refundable items. Certain promotional or heavily discounted tickets may be non-refundable. Where that is the case, it is stated clearly on the product page before you buy.
How refunds are made. Approved refunds are made to the original payment method. Please allow 7 to 10 business days for the amount to appear on your statement.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights, including your rights where we have failed to provide the service with reasonable care and skill or as described.
9. Your account
Where you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for activity carried out through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your authority. We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe it has been used in breach of these terms or unlawfully. You may close your account at any time by contacting us, and closure does not affect bookings already made or records we must keep by law.
10. Loyalty and membership schemes
Where you join a loyalty or membership scheme, the benefits, price and validity period are those shown at the time you join. Memberships and multi visit passes are personal to the named holder, are not transferable, and are valid for the period shown at purchase. Loyalty benefits have no cash value and may not be exchanged for cash. We may vary the benefits of a scheme for the future, on reasonable notice, and where a variation is materially to your disadvantage you may cancel and receive a proportionate refund for the unexpired period.
11. Group and school bookings
Group and school bookings are subject to a separate booking confirmation, which may include a deposit, minimum numbers and its own cancellation terms. Where those terms differ from section 8, the terms of the group booking confirmation prevail. The school, organisation or group leader is responsible for supervising members of the group during the visit.
Educational camps and multi-day programmes for children are organised through schools, and our contract is with the school, not with individual parents. Each camp is subject to a separate booking confirmation setting out the dates, times, programme, participant numbers, price, payment terms and cancellation terms, which prevail over section 8 where they differ.
The school is responsible for enrolling participants, for providing us with the information necessary for children to take part safely, including emergency contact details and any allergy, dietary or medical information, and for obtaining the consent of parents and guardians where required, including consent to photography where images are to be used.
The school remains responsible for the supervision and welfare of the children throughout the camp, and must provide an adequate number of supervising teaching staff for the size and age of the group. Our role is limited to providing the venue, the equipment and the activities, and children are not placed in the care of our staff. Supervising staff must remain with their group at all times, including during activities, breaks and any use of the café or restaurant.
We are responsible for delivering the activities with reasonable care and skill, for the safety of our premises and equipment, and for briefing the group on the safety rules applicable to each activity. The supervising staff are responsible for ensuring that the children follow those rules, for arrival and departure, for administering any medication, and for responding to the individual needs of the children in their care.
We may require a child to be withdrawn from an activity, or ask the supervising staff to remove a child from the group, where their behaviour puts themselves or others at risk, or where continued participation in an activity would be unsafe. Responsibility for the child in that event remains with the supervising staff.
All members of our staff who deliver activities involving children are required, under the terms of their employment, to hold and maintain a clear criminal record certificate, and a clear certificate issued by the Cyprus Police under the Prevention and Combating of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Exploitation of Children and Child Pornography Law 91(I)/2014.
12. Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless a longer period is stated, may be used against any ticket or day pass, and are not exchangeable for cash. The expiry date is shown on the voucher and stated before purchase. Undated gift vouchers bought online may be cancelled within 14 days of purchase under section 7, provided they have not been used.
13. Goods bought from our online shop
Where goods are bought online:
-
Your right to change your mind. You may withdraw from the purchase within 14 days, for any reason, under section 7. The period runs from the day you, or someone you name other than the carrier, take physical possession of the goods. Where an order is delivered in separate consignments, it runs from delivery of the last item. To withdraw, tell us clearly by email to info@planetariumcyprus.com or by post, before the period expires. You may use the model wording in section 7, but you are not obliged to.
-
Returning the goods. After telling us, send the goods back, or hand them to us, without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of doing so. Return postage is at your cost, unless the goods are faulty or not as described, in which case we bear it.
-
Your refund. We refund all payments received, including the standard delivery cost of sending the goods to you, without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of the day we are informed of your decision. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of sending them, whichever is earlier. We refund using the same means of payment you used, and the refund costs you nothing. Where you chose a more expensive delivery method than our standard option, we refund only the standard cost.
-
Handling the goods. You may examine and handle the goods as you would in a shop, to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning. You are liable only for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond that, and we may deduct a corresponding amount from your refund.
-
Goods excluded from this right. Sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons, where they have been unsealed after delivery, and goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, are excluded from the right to change your mind.
-
Faulty or misdescribed goods. Separately from the above, goods carry the statutory legal guarantee of conformity for two years. If goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, you are entitled to repair, replacement, a proportionate price reduction or a refund, in accordance with your statutory rights. This right is not affected by the 14 day period above.
-
Delivery. Delivery times and charges are shown at checkout. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.
14. Acceptable use of the Website
You may use the Website only for lawful purposes. You must not use it in any way that breaches applicable law, introduces malicious code, attempts to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Website or its systems, harvests data by automated means, or places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure. We may suspend access where we reasonably believe this term has been breached.
15. Intellectual property
The text, graphics, photographs, illustrations, video footage, dome show content, artwork and other materials appearing on the Website are the intellectual property of V&G Planetarium Limited, or of third parties whose material is used with permission, and are protected by intellectual property law. Logos, trade names and trade marks shown on the Website belong to V&G Planetarium Limited or to their respective owners.
The Website was developed by AMS Media. All intellectual property rights in the Website, including the underlying software, platform and ticketing system code, have been assigned to and are owned by V&G Planetarium Limited. Nothing on the Website grants you any right in that software.
You may view, download and print content from the Website for your own private, educational or research use, provided the source is acknowledged and no intellectual property rights are prejudiced. Use by a business, service or organisation is not private use. Storing, reproducing, republishing, transmitting, adapting or distributing any part of the Website for commercial purposes, without our written permission, is not permitted.
Third party material included on the Website is used in good faith for information purposes. If you are a rights holder and believe material has been used without proper authority, please contact us at info@planetariumcyprus.com and we will investigate and, where appropriate, remove it promptly.
16. Photography and filming at the planetarium
We may take photographs and video footage at the planetarium and at our events, and use them as described in our Privacy Policy, on the basis of consent. Visitors may take photographs for their own private use, but flash photography and recording are not permitted during dome shows, where they disturb other visitors and can damage the presentation. Commercial photography and filming require our written permission.
17. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
-
death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
-
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
-
any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law:
-
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or of our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
-
We are not liable for business losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity, as our services are supplied for private use.
-
Our total liability in connection with any booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking, except in the cases listed above where liability cannot be limited.
We take reasonable care to keep the Website accurate, available and free of malicious code, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free. Content on the Website is provided for information. It is not professional advice, and decisions you take based on it are your own.
Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything in these terms.
18. Events beyond our control
We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations where the cause is beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, fire, flood, power failure, industrial action, epidemic, government restriction or public emergency. Where such an event prevents a show or experience from taking place, we will contact you and offer a transfer to another date or a full refund.
19. Complaints and dispute resolution
If something goes wrong, please tell us. Email info@planetariumcyprus.com with your booking reference and details of what happened. We acknowledge complaints within 5 business days and aim to provide a full response within 20 business days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Consumer Protection Service of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Cyprus.
The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform ceased operating on 20 July 2025 and no longer provides a route for consumer complaints.
20. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or in our services. Changes apply only going forward. We publish the updated version on this page with a new "last updated" date, and the terms in force at the time you made a booking govern that booking.
21. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of the Republic of Cyprus have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of the country in which you are habitually resident, nor of your right to bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
22. General
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Our failure or delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, and we will tell you in writing if we do, and this will not affect your rights. These terms, together with your booking confirmation, form the entire agreement between us.
