Gyroscope

Feel what it's really like to rotate freely in space on our multi-axis astronaut trainer.

What does it really feel like to rotate freely in space? How do astronauts prepare for the intense disorientation of microgravity? At The Cyprus Planetarium, you can answer these questions from direct personal experience — not from a textbook.

The science behind the Gyroscope

The Gyroscope — also known as a multi-axis trainer — is a mechanical marvel developed for aerospace training. Used by pilots, astronauts and researchers, it simulates zero-gravity conditions by spinning the rider in multiple directions simultaneously. The sensation is intense yet deeply controlled, letting the body experience disorientation in a safe, monitored environment. It's a full-body experience that trains spatial awareness, physical coordination and mental resilience — more than a thrill, it's kinetic education.

Behind the scenes: operated like a space mission

Our certified team is trained in gyroscope operation and emergency procedures. Every ride begins with a clear safety briefing and a pre-check inspection. We ensure full equipment sanitation between uses, constant supervision during each session, and emergency-stop protocols with post-use assistance. Sessions are carefully limited in time and frequency to prevent motion sickness and keep the experience positive for every visitor.

Safety, eligibility & what to wear
