Experience the magic of the night sky at our Astronomical Observatory, where our astronomers bring the cosmos to life with views of distant stars and spectacular solar activity. Take part in our scheduled stargazing events or create your own private session for a personalised and unforgettable journey among the stars.

Our Astrograph Telescope

Our main instrument is a Planewave CDK350 (14″) telescope with precision optics and direct drive technology. It can locate any celestial object in the sky and coupled with its high definition camera it can stream images live inside the Dome theatre, on our Amphitheatre screen or even online via internet! With it we can observe the surface of the Moon, the planets of our Solar system and even distant galaxies and nebulae millions of light years away!

Our SkyMax Telescope

skymax telescopeOur Sky-Watcher SkyMax-102 AZ-Go2 is a compact Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope with a 102mm aperture and 1300mm focal length, designed for detailed views of the Moon and planets. With its robotic GoTo mount it can automatically locate and track celestial objects, making it ideal for night events at the Planetarium. Through it visitors can enjoy crisp views of Jupiter’s cloud bands and moons, Saturn’s rings, and highly detailed lunar landscapes.

The SkyMax performs best at up to 200x magnification, depending on atmospheric conditions. While deep-sky objects appear smaller, their contrast makes them sharper and more defined.

Our Classic Refractor

classic reflectorOur Bresser AC 60/900 Classic AZ is a lightweight achromatic refractor telescope, perfect for beginners and public stargazing nights. With a 60mm aperture and 900mm focal length, it offers clear views of the Moon, Saturn’s rings, Jupiter’s moons, and even some of the brighter deep-sky objects. Upgraded with a Sky-Watcher Star Discovery AZ SynScan WiFi GoTo mount, it provides easy operation, precise control, and automatic object tracking.

The Classic Refractor works best under 100x magnification, offering crisp and enjoyable views for visitors of all ages.
